Navigating the Moment:

10 Day Leadership Bootcamp

Schedule a call to learn more

This dynamic bootcamp is designed to bring together senior leaders from high impact nonprofits to think strategically and practically about how to both navigate the current moment and to position their organization to not only survive, but thrive, in a new global paradigm.

This is an unprecedented moment in international development. While much about the future remains unclear, one thing is certain – we won’t see a return to the “status quo.” Instead, we are likely looking at a future where organizations are asked to be more efficient, innovative and responsive to community needs – traits that already describe the vast majority of nonprofits that are locally led and/or have deep community roots.

There is the potential to see real shifts in leadership and decision making to proximate leaders, which creates meaningful opportunities for these organizations, if they can align their strategy to meet this moment.

This two-week intensive program is designed for senior leadership teams from nonprofit organizations that are locally led and/or have deep community roots. Consisting of 10 three-hour sessions, the program balances strategy and planning with leadership development and peer to peer network building.

This program is designed to meet organizations where they are, and to be practical and applicable to the real-world challenges and opportunities leaders are facing. Each day will include a series of highly interactive virtual sessions focused on elements of both strategy and leadership development.

Strategic Leadership

Fulfilling the organization’s purpose in a changing, uncertain environment can be challenging. This session will explore adaptive leadership approaches for crisis management and organizational resilience building through developing a clear and compelling vision for organizational growth that focuses on innovation, flexibility, cost effectiveness, and responsiveness to community needs—reimagining a future that is not tied to an outdated aid paradigm but instead sees a meaningful shift toward local leadership and decision-making.

Revenue Diversification

This session will explore different models for revenue diversification, focusing on approaches that leverage community assets. It will include a discussion of various models for earned income, as well as local fundraising and CSR.

Scenario Planning

The future of development work remains uncertain, and organizations need to be proactive in responding quickly and appropriately to challenges and opportunities presented by this shifting landscape. This session will examine how nonprofit leaders can manage uncertainty more confidently by developing scenario plans that support their vision.

Change Management

Managing change within an organization, ensuring the cooperation of staff and the successful execution of planned changes, can be challenging. This session will explore steps to successfully lead organizational change, including creating a vision for change, communicating that vision, and aligning organizational staffing and structures to support this future vision, which in many cases will mean thinking creatively about how to maximize efficiency without sacrificing impact (a dance that nonprofits are constantly doing)

Peer to Peer Learning

By bringing together a group of leaders to learn with and from each other, we are also creating space to grapple with the very real and pressing challenges that come with leading through moments of change and uncertainty. Over the course of the program we will invite each organization to present a challenge or opportunity that they are currently grappling with, which we will in turn workshop together.
